Online Explorers’ Series in February

In February, the partnership dioceses will host a new, three-part online program, called the Explorers’ Series, for people discerning a possible call to ordained ministry.

“This is called an “Explorer” series because you do not have to be certain of a call or certain of a particular type of ministry to attend,” said Canon Twila Smith, who will lead the program. “This is a time to consider different ministries and learn more about them.”

The program begins with a 90-minute online session for both the explorer and their sponsoring priest. People from congregations without a priest-in-charge, rector, or dean in place who are interested in attending should email Canon Smith before registering. Explorers will also attend two additional 90-minute sessions; all three sessions are required to apply for the next step in the ordination process.

To register for the online Explorers’ Series, which will take place on Zoom, email Dr. Gabrie’l Atchison. Email Canon Twila Smith with questions.

Explorers who prefer an in-person program can attend a day-long session with their sponsoring priest on Saturday, August 27, at the Cathedral of St. Paul in Erie.
