Advent Day of Prayer on December 7

On December 7, people from the Dioceses of Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania will gather at locations across the region for an Advent Day of Prayer. Canon Vanessa Butler will lead prayer on the Partnership in Prayer Facebook page throughout the day.

Congregations that would like to participate in the Advent Day of Prayer can email Canon Jason Shank with their schedule. Participants are invited to share photos and reflections on social media using the hashtag #PartnershipPrayerDay.

Southwest Region

9 a.m.: Morning Prayer at Trinity, New Castle

12 p.m.: Noonday prayer at Church of the Epiphany, Grove City.  The sanctuary will also be open for prayer and lighting of candles until 3 p.m. A portable labyrinth will be available on site.

6 p.m. Service of Hope and Healing at Resurrection Church, Hermitage

9 p.m. Compline on Facebook Live with Church of the Epiphany, Grove City

Southeast Region

12 p.m. Holy Eucharist Rite II and Unction at Church of Our Saviour, DuBois

5 pm. Evening Prayer at Holy Trinity, Brookville

St. Paul’s, Lewiston

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sanctuary will be open for prayer and meditation

Genesee Deanery

12 p.m. Eucharist at St. James, Batavia

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. St. James sanctuary will be open for prayer.

Advent Prayer booklets will be left in the blessing box for guests to take with them as they pick up food, scarves, hats and socks. Booklets will also be sent to the shut-ins in the Genesee Deanery.
