The World is Important: Bishop Sean’s Pentecost Sermon

“What makes Christianity and the incarnation powerful is that the world is important,” said Bishop Sean in his Day of Pentecost sermon. “We are, our bodies are; this isn’t something from which to escape. The kingdom of God about which Jesus speaks and about which the Advocate comes is the place where it happens. In John 3:16 we hear … ‘for God so loved the world’ that God came to the world. We don’t detach and somehow ascend to God. God so loved the world. And in the sending of the Advocate, it means that the voice of God, the voice of Jesus is heard and made relevant in our own context today.”
