An Introduction to the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center

In this video produced for the diocesan partnership’s 2020 convention, Interim Director Ally Sponger and Visitor Experience Specialist Saladin Allah offer a preview of what visitors will experience at the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center.

In July, the Episcopal Commission to Dismantle Racism and Discrimination of Western New York awarded a $7,500 grant to the center.

“We’re lucky to have a resource like the Underground Railroad Heritage Center so close in Niagara Falls,” said Rose Sconiers, the commission’s first vice-chair. “Their interactive exhibits bring to life the courage and determination of freedom seekers to escape the bonds of slavery. Our donation is given to help ensure this valuable resource is not lost to the COVID-19 shutdown.”
